A movie and TV rating aggregator for Switzerland
We aggregate ratings from IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, TMDB, Metacritic, and TVmaze into a single balanced index, then show you titles that are actually available to stream in Switzerland.
Life is too short to watch everything.
Rating sources we combine
hüt abig is a movie and TV rating aggregator. We do not invent scores. Published ratings from the major platforms are normalised to 0–100 and blended with adjustable weights:
- IMDb — Large audience vote
- Rotten Tomatoes — Critics (Tomatometer) and audience score
- TMDB — Community catalogue rating
- Metacritic — Weighted critic metascore and user score
- TVmaze — Series community rating (optional; off by default)
- Oscars and Emmys — Wins count more than nominations in the awards signal
How the hüt abig index is calculated
The default Consensus blend uses these source weights. Missing sources are omitted from the average, never treated as zero. Vote confidence and personal “My taste” stay out of the default blend until you turn them on. Scores are collected snapshots, not live page scrapes.
| Source | Default weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| IMDb | 40 | Audience rating |
| TMDB | 15 | Community rating |
| Rotten Tomatoes critics | 15 | Critic score |
| Rotten Tomatoes audience | 5 | Audience rating |
| Metacritic critics | 20 | Critic score |
| Metacritic users | 5 | Audience rating |
| TVmaze | 0 | Optional series community rating |
| Awards (Oscars / Emmys) | 10 | Awards recognition |
Swiss streaming, not a global dump
Unlike global aggregators such as The Verdict or MDBList, hüt abig prioritises Swiss streaming availability (region CH). You still see the individual IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, TMDB, Metacritic, and TVmaze columns, and you can change the weights. The ranking answers “what is actually good and watchable here?” rather than “what has a score somewhere on the internet?”
Coverage honesty
Every ranked title has an IMDb rating. Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and TVmaze coverage is incomplete, especially for niche, older, and non-English titles. When a source is missing, its weight drops out of the denominator. We do not fill gaps with estimates, and we do not currently include Letterboxd.
FAQ
- Is hüt abig a movie rating aggregator for IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and TMDB?
- Yes. hüt abig aggregates ratings from IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes (critics and audience), TMDB, Metacritic, and TVmaze, plus Oscar and Emmy records, then ranks films and series available on Swiss streaming services.
- How is this different from The Verdict or MDBList?
- Those sites are strong global multi-score views. hüt abig is built for Switzerland: the same major rating families, adjustable weights, awards, and a filter for what you can actually stream in CH.
- Can I change the combined score?
- Yes. Default weights are IMDb 40, TMDB 15, Rotten Tomatoes critics 15, Rotten Tomatoes audience 5, Metacritic critics 20, Metacritic users 5, awards 10. TVmaze, vote confidence, and My taste start at 0. Missing sources drop from the mix.
- Do you include TVmaze?
- Yes as a visible series rating and an optional weight. It is off in the default blend because coverage is thinner than IMDb or TMDB.
